STAND now available!

https://amzn.to/31rdqJB
Well, August 10th is here, and as promised, so is the new book, STAND. It's been a long, wonderful ride, and I'm glad I had you all along for the company. EDIT: (At present,  the Kindle version and paperback versions are separate, but should be linked within a few hours.)

For those of you who plan on reading the serialized edition, head over to fleenovel.blogspot.com, where I've posted the prologue. (Subsequent chapters will be released every Monday.)

If you enjoy this conclusion to the FLEE series, please consider leaving a review on Amazon. Happy reading!

In other news, I've been consistently uploading chapters of the FLEE audiobook, with a new chapter being released, on average, every couple of days. I'll do my best to get through the whole book!

  1. How much faith do you need to survive the great tribulation? As much as you can cultivate. I really appreciate how important it is to cultivate the fruitages of the spirit now bc its those 'soft skills' that can make or break our unity. May I be just as steadfast and unmovable as the friends in the book.

    1. So many of the elements in Peter's and Rachel's stories are based on similar situations I've faced recently. Nothing quite as dramatic, of course, but I can really imagine how similar things could play out on a larger scale during the tribulation. Part of the reason for writing this story, I think, was to picture myself in Peter's shoes and try to prepare for what lies ahead.

  2. Thanks so much I can't wait to finish. My hope is you will read the whole series.

I have shared your books with family and friends who have voiced they would like to have audio book options.

    1. I would like to read all the books, but we will see how I feel after completing the first book. At present I don't mind doing it since there are no other writing projects on the immediate horizon. Once I start writing, however, I'd rather focus the free time I have on working on new stories. Thank you for the support, and I hope you all enjoy the (very unprofessional) readings!

  3. Hi,

I’m on chapter 23 and wow wow wow loving every minute so far.

Just something quick that caught my eye in chapter 19:
“I wonder about a lot of people. Was thinking of Josh and Rita just the other day. I keep hoping one day they’ll step off one of the train platforms.”

Should this read Darren and Rita? I can’t think who Josh is, though maybe I missed something.

Whatever the case I am loving it so far and hanging off every word and I cannot wait to read the conclusion.

    1. Yes, that is a typo! I will be fixing it and republishing this afternoon. Sorry for the confusion. (I believe the reason for this was that, in the original draft of FLEE, the name of the couple was Rita and Josh, not Darren. That name stuck with me, I guess.)

  4. Yh I didn't see Darren and rita mentioned and am in chapter 28

  5. I thought the same thing. It should have been Darien. I think Josh is the brother's son from Critical Times.

  6. So we've no idea what happened to Darren ?

    1. Yes, I left the end of his story open-ended. I did this for a few reasons. First, he and Rita were no longer central to the story: the protection of the faithful ones and the gathering forces of Gog of Magog. Secondly, leaving their fates unwritten seemed appropriate: in the future, we will likely find ourselves in situations similar to Peter and Rachel and the others. We may not know exactly what happened to certain ones, and will have to wait on Jehovah and trust that his judgment is fair and just.

    1. If you would like to read the book, the simplest way is to download it from Amazon. If you've got a tablet or a phone, download the Kindle app and purchase it there. If you would rather not pay for it, you can read the book in weekly installments via fleenovel.blogspot.com

  8. When Claire broke up with Trey, he made a threat, but I didn't catch how that part of the story played out. Was it implied that he was connected to the airport bombing, or did he just not get a chance to carry his threats out? The stories are amazing either way, just curious is all.

    1. This threat was eventually carried out by means of an embarrassing photo that Trey shared of Claire on his social media account. This photo was later seen by one of the Witnesses in the convoy with the Tuckers, and she showed it to Alvin, causing him to be more skeptical of Claire's claims.

    2. So, after writing this comment, I realized that I actually cut this entire scene from the book! In the original draft, Trey had released incriminating photos of Claire on this social media accounts, which is what Jessica had seen and shown Alvin at the gas station in Canada. I can't remember why I took these specific details out, but I still consider it a part of the story. Sorry for the confusion!

  9. Really loved this series, and all your other books for that matter. I appreciated you addressing the feelings of those who believe the start of the great tribulation is the 'closing' of the door of opportunity to come into a friendship with God. I personally feel that way and had to do some research as to WHY I feel that way. One reference I found is in the Pure Worship book, chapter 16 par. 17, and any reference to the application of Ezekiel's prophecy about the 'mark for survival'. Though I disagree with how you've written that particular point, I absolutely love these stories and hope you write many more.

    1. Craig, thanks for your comment. I checked that reference again (and I had read it during research for the book to make sure things aligned). While I understand where you're coming from, check the very next paragraph (par 18): "At that crucial time, just before Armageddon begins, Jesus will judge people as sheep or goats. Those of the “great crowd” will be judged, or marked, as sheep, which thus indicates that they will “depart . . . into everlasting life.” " So the final judgement is really made at this point. It would thus seem that although many are marked for survival at the start of the tribulation, there is an opportunity during that tribulation for others to display some sort of action or attitude to also join in with the great crowd before the final judgment. Again, I could be wrong on this, but taking all of the information into consideration, this seems like the most plausible explanation. If you have any other recent references, feel free to share!

    2. I understand your feelings on that point. And I don't necessarily believe the judgment happens at the start of the Great Tribulation, but sometime during the Great Tribulation. In any case, it seems that the basis for the judgement is a person's actions and attitude displayed before the Great Tribulation breaks out.

Supporting that view is what is stated in this week's Watchtower "Keep Busy During the Last of the Last Days". Paragraph 6 states "Let us remember that once the great tribulation begins, it will be too late for people to turn to Jehovah. That is why our preaching work is so urgent!"

Thanks for your work on this subject, it has been a real source of encouragement to my wife and I. We look forward to your next book!

    3. Craig, yep, I read that too and immediately thought of this! Please see my latest post on it. Thanks for the comments!

  10. Thank for the FLEE series. I must admit that once it was announced in your series that the faithful were ultimately taveling to Africa, I initially had a "raised eyebrow" so-to-speak. But after doing my own personal research and study, looking at 16th through 18th century (pre-colonial) maps of the continent, re-reading Biblical accounts and their respective scenarios, I found the Namibia element quite plausible after all. This series helped me to "dig deeper" in my studies. Much appreciated!
